Monterey to Winamucca Nevada
09:54pm PST

Alright. Our first day out. Deb and I decided that instead of paying a jillion dollars to fly the four of us out to Montreal for a reunion, we'd go ahead and drive it. Kids haven't really seen America and it should be a good trip for all.

Today's Pics:

Deb and Spence get psyched to drive the hippy-mobile across Red State America.

Deb scopes the kids out on a salt flat outside scenic Winnimucca, Nevada.

Kaya finds some random posts out in the middle of an alkaline lake,...

Grumpy Spence and the absense of cigarettes,...

Command Central... I've got the laptop hooked up to a GPS, a 300Gig hard drive (for video editing) and we can capture both firewire and USB stuff from our still and miniDV cams. Geeking hard.

First day. Both kids did well. No one died back there and they were pretty cheerful all day. We'll see what tomorrow brings,...

Jesus apparently lives,... getting closer to the heartland...

Got into camp, took one shot of the van and switched my camera over to RAW format only to find just now that I don't have the RAW converter for Photoshop so you can't see them right now.

Found a converter, but it doesn't work with this old version of PS. Here's some more shots from the night of the 3rd..

Beautiful evening in Winnemucca. High Desert. The stars last night, according to Kenna, were glorious.

Deb and the kids busy playing Cribbage while I mug for the long exposure.
