... All of the
traffic signs in Quebec are in French,... and I don't speak French.
Mont Tremblant, Quebec.
The 16th was
a very uneventful day. Lots of sitting around and relaxing by
the pool. Nothing much to report and no spectacular photos.
The 17th,
on the other hand, was amazing in a lot of ways. Deb and the girls
got to climb a wall, a tree, hell I don't know what else, but
they were all over the place. I stayed mostly in the "village"
of Tremblant, which is really kind of like the truman show; All
these fancy facades (that's French) that make it look like a quaint
little French Villa in the Alps. Kinda trippy and false, but there
were a ton of people there and I was interested in getting some
clandestine portrature. The night was filled with Blues and Rock
n' Roll and a fair amount of alchohol. Much fun was had by all.
Tomorrow we
leave here and get back on the road to the West. I think I speak
for the whole Lindsay Clan when I say it's been great but we're
ready to get back to the Chihuahuas and life as we know it.
The Pics:
Still
messing with the 60mm Macro lens and I think my subjects are beginning
to tire of me....

Awaiting
another super yummy dinner ala Jack....

This,
from what the locals tell me, is called a GroundHog,..
Chunky little dude stuffed his face with half our garden in the
morning and then came back to finish it off that night..

We
cruised into the next town to procure our copies of Harry Potter
and the Half-Blood Prince which I have been reading to them all
every night now. We spoke with the clerk who was French and he
lamented that the French version doesn't come out until October
1st... poor guy looked stricken.

Cloudy
days made for some tricky photography,.. these are the "Truman
Show" buildings I spoke of.

I
found a little nook in a back room with some light,..

Kaya
suits up for an acent.

...and
climbs a wall...

i
snuck into the forest behind the shopping center before the Blues
Show,..

Dad
with screaming kids below my gondola.

The
plaza begins to fill with partially inebriated Blues fans,...

The
architecture, although a bit contrived, allows for some really
cool canyon-like areas where people can talk across a chasm,...

These
guys opened the Sunday show and just rocked the house. Deb and
I will definitely be seeing more live music.

Although
I didn't get the bands name, the lead was a gravelly voiced Frenchman
who did a great Luis Armstrong,...

One
of my clandestine portraits, I liked this guys face and after
watching him for a while, snapped him.

Got
a back stage pass from a woman named Angel who turned out to be
the days showstopper. here you see raving fans.

Concert
photography is really hard! I think I need a super fast lens for
this stuff. Very low-light and lots of rapid movement... pretty
much all the tings you don't want in photography.

This
is Angel, who's energy was so intense, I felt like I'd been tackled
after the show.

Deb,
Jack, and Ian after the show.

Spooky
last night picture,... 95 degrees all last night.. gah.
